  • Job Details
  • Registered Nurse specialty position for critical care float pool at Rady Childrens Hospital - San Diego
  • Pediatric ICU experience required
  • Traveler must be willing to get flu shot when requested
  • Position entails first floating to other units outside of the critical care units, including ED
  • Responsible for all age ranges and levels of acuity
  • Will provide care for high acuity unit seeing injury, respiratory failure, shock, multi system failure, poisonings, near drowning, meningitis, post-op cardiac surgical care, neurosurgery, trauma, hem onc, DKA if PH or altered consciousness
    • Job Requirements
    • CA License
    • BLS and PALS certifications
    • 2 full recent years of Pediatric ICU experience required
    • Experience with ventilators, trachs, multiple monitoring skills, specifically CVP and EKG
      • Schedule Information
      • Shifts include 3x12 variable or straight night
      • 4-5 weekend shifts on day shifts and then 5-6 shifts of fri-sat nights - traveler gets one full weekend off every 4-week schedule
      • 13-week contracts
      • Maximum of 6 days off allowed, however, must still complete 3 shifts per week
      • Must work 2 out of the 3 holidays
        • Unit Specific Information
        • Critical care float pool position
        • PICU with 15 bed minimum and higher acuity across all PICU/ICU areas
        • Will care for patients from all age ranges and levels of acuity
          • Additional Details
          • Valid photo ID is required
          • Must present front and back copies of certifications on the first day
